You can't stop UV damage entirely, but you can slow it: reduce direct sun exposure when parked, wash road salt off the front of the vehicle in winter, and keep abrasive cleaners off the lens.
Park with the sun in mind
A garage is best. If a vehicle lives outdoors, even parking so the front end faces away from long afternoon sun reduces cumulative UV exposure on the lenses.
Rinse the front end through winter
Salt and sand sitting on the front of a vehicle for weeks is hard on more than the paint. Regular winter rinses help keep abrasive material off the lens surface.
Be careful what you clean with
Harsh solvents and abrasive pads can scuff a polycarbonate lens. Mild car wash soap and a soft microfiber towel are enough for routine cleaning.
